Household and Intrahousehold data for food security

Hi everyone,

As part of our bimonthly journal club, the IMMANA Fellows from Rounds 1 and 2 had a great discussion today, led by Dr. Nitya Mittal, on a USDA ERS report titled 'Using Household and Intrahousehold Data to Assess Food Insecurity: Evidence from Bangladesh', by Anne D'Souza and Sharad Tandon. Nitya walked us through the issues that the report addresses, the data the report used (BIHS 2011-12), and the analyses that the researchers used.

We'd love to hear from others, especially from those interested in household vs. individual measures, validation of these, etc.

The report is attached to this post.

Thanks!

Zak
